There’s a reason you see so many Fuso vehicles on new Zealand roads. It’s because we design every aspect of our trucks and busses to deliver, whatever the job demands.

Our Shogun, Fighter and Canter trucks are as versatile as it gets and completely equipped with the features that put you and your business out in front. Many of these features are our own
advancements.

Future Vehicles

We seek to continually reduce the environmental impact of driving and improve the recyclability of trucks and buses through responsible design and innovations in automotive technology. It’s a principle that’s seen the many developments that set our vehicles apart.

MFTBC is dedicated to finding answers to these questions. Some hints for future Fuso truck development can be seen in this Canter Eco-D concept for a hybrid 3-tonne dump truck, shown at the Tokyo Motor Show.

This unique vehicle employs a hybrid diesel and electric drivetrain in a parallel configuration, meaning that either the 3-litre diesel or the 35kW electric motor – or a combination of both – could power the truck at any time, keeping fuel use and Nox and PM emissions to a minimum. One innovative feature is that the electric motor, not the diesel engine, powers the dumping mechanism, so while the truck loads or unloads there are no emissions at all.

The Canter Eco-D incorporates numerous other advanced concepts for commercial vehicle styling, safety and functionality. Examples are the design innovations that prevent spillage from the dump body and the novel ceiling glass of liquid crystal laminate construction that helps maintain fine cabin temperature control while saving energy.

Inside and out, the future looks incredible.

Biofuel

Fuso products including Canter, Fighter, Shogun and Rosa can tolerate biodiesel blends of up to 5% based on biodiesel feedstock that meets the requirements of the NZ fuel specifications.

Mitsubishi Fuso New Zealand does not guarantee the suitability of vehicles to operate on biodiesel blend fuels or take responsibility for the effects they may have on driveability or on hardware items.

Please contact your local Mitsubishi Fuso dealer for advice on using biodiesel.
