The Bluetec® technology is used in all Fuso HD Euro V trucks and is cutting edge environmental technology and was developed to meet growing global demand for more environmentally responsible vehicles. 

BlueTec® technology is a comprehensive emission reduction system design to sharply cut PM and NOx emissions without reducing performance or fuel efficiency.  More than just a filter; it actively reduces PM production by promoting more complete fuel combustion in the engine, and then uses catalytic reactions to break down NOx into harmless water and nitrogen. Lightweight and convenient, BlueTec® brings emissions down; All 0M457 engines meet Euro V emissions regulations.

Essential to the BlueTec® system used on the HD Euro, is the AdBlue® urea solution (stored in its own separate tank) which is injected into the exhaust flow, where the heat of the exhaust then converts it into ammonia.  The gases then leave the exhaust to pass inside the SCR (selective catalytic reduction) catalyst, where the ammonia reacts with the NOx to create water and nitrogen; leaving mostly harmless emissions products behind.
