Fuso NZ brings X factor to Fieldays

Fuso NZ managing director Kurtis Andrews says that both vehicles embody premium Daimler engineering, and that the giveaway was an opportunity to leverage the synergies between FUSO and its parent company.

 “The FUSO HD 8x4 range is the pinnacle of our heavy truck offering and we see a clear alignment with the X-Class, New Zealand’s most premium ute,” said Andrews. “To celebrate Fieldays, we’re giving away a top of the range X-Class X250d Power and leaving the choice of colour and transmission type up to the winner.”**

 The HD 8x4, in either 470hp or 410hp, is a proven performer across a broad range of applications nationwide. The 12-speed AMT transmission has been customised for New Zealand roads and is growing in favour with operators – many of whom thought they were three peddlers for life.

 Andrews said that given the 8x4 market in New Zealand is relatively small, those in the draw will have a strong chance of driving away the X-Class.

 “Because buying and registering an 8x4 has a fairly long lead time, we are running the promotion until the end of the year to give operators a chance to get a truck through the bodybuilder before registering it. That said, the market is not huge, so the odds should be pretty good.”
