From wall-to-wall, floor-to-ceiling warehouse pallet racking to small-scale retail storage, PRS caters for a wide market.
“Anything in the pallet racking or shelving space, we’ve got it covered,” says sales director Antony Straka.
Needing a better transport solution for its broad product line than was available in its existing fleet –and wanting a more professional look into the bargain – PRS invested in a new FUSO Fighter FU2328.
“It was time for an upgrade and we wanted a better image in the market,” says Antony. “When we arrive at a customer’s site, we want to represent our brand as best possible.”
“Our last truck was more than ten years old and was showing signs of age. Our motto is ‘Everything, In Its Place’, and that extends to our team members, the equipment we use, and our truck of choice.”
With an eye-catching livery, the 23.2T curtainsider delivers all over the North Island and has been a welcome addition to the business.
“This truck is the perfect size for our deliveries, be it frames, beams, or industrial shelving,” says Antony.
The 207kW / 802Nm turbocharged diesel engine also makes light work of any heavy lifting that might be required.
“Some of our racking systems comprise of reasonably heavy components, but this truck has the power and weight capacity to get any product where it needs to be.”
Antony says he relied on the company’s existing relationship with Mike Orr from Keith Andrews Manukau to find the right solution.
“Mike’s understanding and attention to detail regarding exactly what we were after led us to this truck. He’s been great to deal with.”
One of the biggest beneficiaries from the purchase is PRS’ dedicated driver Billy Perham, whom Antony says is “100% happy with the driveability and comfort of his new ‘office’.”
“It’s made a huge difference for Billy, who says he can now spend six hours in a truck that he enjoys driving and doesn’t leave him exhausted at the end. The six-speed Allison auto transmission helps with that.”
